Imagine a warm summer evening as you sit on the porch enjoying the breeze as it whispers through the treetops. The sun is setting in the distance and the sweet smell of summer is in the air. Also known as Aeolian chimes, windchimes can be produced from a variety of materials. Although usually metal, some chimes are also made from wood and can represent a number of different styles and designs as well as sizes. Metal is also frequently used for producing wind chimes; making it easy to tune the chimes in order to produce the most harmonious sound possible. Other materials, such as glass and seashells are also growing in popularity. While it is not possible to fine tune these eclectic items to produce exact notes, the sounds unique wind chimes produce are often amazingly one of a kind.
